Here is a complete list of all the new movies and TV shows on Netflix in the US in May 2022. Below, we’ll tell you about all the new shows, movies, specials, and games coming out this month.

If you’re just looking for Netflix Originals, here’s a longer list of the movies and TV shows that are Netflix Originals. Also, you should keep an eye on the shows that are going away in May 2022, like Dawson’s Creek and the excellent StartUp series.

For those who don’t know how our “coming soon” posts work, we tend to put them up a lot earlier than other sites to reflect the titles that are known to be coming out in the next month. We’ll keep this list updated (every other day if there are enough new titles), so bookmark it. In the third or fourth week of the month before, Netflix puts out its official PR list.

The Best New Netflix Shows and Movies

All four Jackass movies (The first three May 1, Jackass 4.5 May 20)

The Jackass series is one of the most important, timeless, and surprising long-lasting comedies of the 21st century. These guys are creative people. As if getting the first three Jackass movies on Netflix at the beginning of the month wasn’t enough of a gift, Jackass 4.5, which is a version of the movie Jackass Forever with deleted scenes added, will be released in May 20. Some of these stunts will make you laugh so hard you’ll cry and gag so hard you’ll throw up.

Operation Mincemeat (May 10)

This is an old-fashioned studio movie based on a true story that is neither great nor terrible. It’s in the exact middle (brow). It tells how British intelligence agents in World War II came up with a bold, almost crazy plan to keep the Nazis from finding out about the Allied invasion of Sicily. It’s a historical drama with some funny parts and a strong cast, led by Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen, who plays Tom Wambsgans from Succession.

The Lincoln Lawyer (May 13)

Netflix doesn’t have a lot of dramas like those on TV networks, so this one from writer and producer David E. Kelley stands out. Before he was the guy from Big Little Lies, Kelley was the go-to guy for lawyers on TV with shows like L.A. Law, The Practice, Ally McBeal, and Boston Legal. He is going back to the genre. The Lincoln Lawyer is based on a best-selling book series by Michael Connelly, who also created Det. Harry Bosch. It follows Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), a defence lawyer in Los Angeles who doesn’t like defending guilty people. Matthew McConaughey played him in the famous movie of the same name in 2011. If this show is as good as possible, it will be trendy.

Love on the Spectrum  (May 18)

A version of the Australian reality documentary series about people on the autism spectrum who go on dates. If the U.S. version is anything like the original, it will be kind and moving.

Somebody Feed Phil (May 25)

Phil Rosenthal, who made the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond and is a TV producer, spends his time doing what all successful people should do: travelling the world and eating tasty things. Rosenthal’s charming show about food and travel is back for its fifth season, and he brings his unique style of food to it. He doesn’t overthink where his food comes from or how healthy it is. He mostly just puts it in his mouth and says “yum” (but it is still informative). His show is a hit, and he is a well-known face in the food world because of the way it is different from most food shows. This show is excellent.

Stranger Things 4 (May 27)

It’s Netflix’s biggest event of the year. Reed Hastings probably thinks it will help Netflix’s stock price by itself. This season has a lot riding on it, and if the trailer is any indication, the Duffer Brothers and the rest of the cast will deliver. The kids face a new threat from the Upside Down while Hopper (David Harbour) fights to stay alive in a Soviet prison camp. Season 4’s first part comes out on May 27, and the second part in July.

Norm MacDonald: Nothing Special (May 30)

Norm MacDonald decided to record a secret stand-up special in 2020, about a year before he died of cancer. He did this in case his health got worse. As part of Norm’s wishes, the particular shot in one take in his living room will be on Netflix at the end of the month. It’s probably going to be hard and sad for his fans to watch, but Norm liked to make people feel bad.
