The Vigil and Gentleman Jack star Suranne Jones is reportedly all set to create ITV relationship drama called Maryland.

Suranne Jones, BAFTA-winning British actress is discovering her new limits after her phenomenal work on Peacock original series Vigil and BBC One series Gentleman Jack. The actress rose to notoriety as Karen McDonald on Coronation Street in 2000.

ITV has revealed that Monumental Television will be producing the show. However, neither them nor the actress has confirmed whether she would be acting in the show. Maryland is written by Jones and Anne-Marie O’Connor. They both have worked on other projects together as well.

The show follows two sisters, Becca and Rosaline, who have grown apart over the years but learn to love and appreciate one another all over again, after devastating occurrences. Each sister travels to the Isle of Man to find their mother dead, Mary. Later on, they realize that their mother has been leading a double life, leaving their father Richard at home in Manchester while establishing another world for herself.

While speaking to Deadline, Jones mentioned.

Maryland delves into family dynamics and the way in which we ‘label’ each other, sometimes never letting ourselves or our siblings break free from those roles. We look at how we grow apart from one another and how sometimes we don’t really know anything about the people we call our own.

Suranne Jones has already a tremendous fanbase due to her outstanding performances in her past roles. And we are delighted to see her work, Maryland!
