HBO has officially greenlit the season 3 for The White Lotus, promising another captivating installment of the anthology series created by Mike White. The previous seasons set in Hawaii and Sicily garnered critical acclaim, with Season 1 winning 10 Emmy Awards.

Originally scheduled for a 2024 premiere, Season 3 is now expected to air in 2025 due to delays caused by the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which disrupted production in 2023. The upcoming season will unfold in Thailand, with filming commencing in February 2024 in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok.

The star-studded cast features returning standout Natasha Rothwell, joined by new additions Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, and many more. Notably, Miloš Biković, cast as a flirtatious yogi named Valentin, exited the role on February 2 after controversy surrounding his support for Russia in the war against Ukraine.

Plot details for Season 3 are under wraps, but White has promised a “supersized” edition that will be “longer, bigger, crazier.” The multi-generational group at the center includes a patriarch, a female corporate executive, an actress, mothers, a misfit, and a yogi.

The season may see an increase in episodes, with Season 1 having six and Season 2 featuring seven. HBO’s Casey Bloys expressed excitement about the scripts, echoing Natasha Rothwell’s sentiment that each script made her gasp.

As for potential crossovers, Mike White has an idea involving characters from Season 2 (the Sullivans) and Season 1 (the Pattons) on a boat, as shared by actress Meghann Fahy.
