As the anticipation builds for the Berlin International Film Festival, Shudder, AMC Networks’ premier streaming service for horror, has successfully acquired the rights to Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala’s latest psychological thriller, The Devil’s Bath. Set to compete at the festival, the film is a captivating journey into horror, marking the directors’ return after their acclaimed works, “Goodnight Mommy” and The Lodge.

Shudder’s acquisition encompasses all rights in North America, as well as the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, promising a broader audience for the chilling narrative.

Transporting viewers to 1750 Austria, a time when villages were shrouded in dense forests, the German-language film unfolds the harrowing tale of a deeply religious woman ensnared in the pressures of daily life. Her descent into darkness becomes a stark exploration of depression, presenting a unique perspective on the struggles faced by women throughout history.
