After a long absence on TV, Amy Schumer is back with a new drama comedy series Life and Beth premiering on March 18, on Hulu. It is her first appearance since the ending of her Comedy Central show, “Inside Amy Schumer,” in 2016. But that’s not the only good news: it was also revealed that she will co-host the Oscars in 2022 alongside Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes.
The comedian appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new dramedy series and where she had a fun conversation regarding her health issues, body transformation and Oscars.
Amy Schumer said she’s looking forward to getting “into some trouble” and is “really excited” to host the Oscars this year. The most anticipated and prestigious awards, 94th Academy Awards will be held on March 27 and the comedian will be the emcee the ceremony. This is the first time, all the hosts are women.
I just feel like performing right now, coming out of the pandemic and everything. I just feel really excited about it. I want to go and, you know, get into some trouble.
Jimmy, congratulated the star and said she will be great.

Amy opened about her new show Life & Beth, which was inspired by her going through her old diaries during the pandemic lockdown.
Yeah. I mean, I got weird over the pandemic. Just a little dark, dark places. And I was just looking back at my journals and sort of the teenage traumas. And I’m also like a new mom and I’m learning that all toddlers want is empathy and surprise, surprise that’s all adults want.
Amy plays Beth in the new series, who has a handsome boyfriend living in Manhattan and a fun job working with wine, but she’s unhappy and all the things she thought would make her happy, didn’t. Amy also revealed her inspiration behind writing the show.
I just thought it’s really important to kind of confront those traumas and in order to move forward. So I wanted to make a show about that and somebody said I could and so I did,
This year Amy Schumer is really hitting all the bars! And we’re looking forward to seeing the hilarious comedian at Oscars and in the new series Life and Beth.
