Jennifer Lopez Gets Teary During Generation Award Acceptance

On Sunday, June 5, Jennifer Lopez accepted the generation award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. She got emotional as she thanked her fans, management, and everyone who has influenced her cinematic performances throughout the years.

A compilation of footage from her movies screened before she delivered a heartfelt statement.

I look at those movies and I see all the wonderful people that I’ve been blessed to know and to work with. You’re only as good as the people that you work with. And if you’re lucky, they make you better. And I have been very lucky in that regard. As an actor, I’m not any of the women that I’ve played, but there’s a part of what is deeply true to me in each one of those characters.

Jennifer Lopez also thanked her manager, Benny Medina, for being the real definition of ride or die.

If there’s one person who believed in me from the beginning, from the first time I played him a raggedy little demo of a song that I had I wrote that day, he never let me stopped believing in myself. It was him. There were times so low, I think I kept going more for you than for myself. You are the true meaning of ride or die.

Jennifer Lopez has made a name for herself in movies, music, television, and business, with a worldwide box office total of more than $3 billion and 75 million albums sold. She was selected to the TIME 100 list and Forbes’ Most Powerful Celebrity list, and she was also the first woman to appear on the cover of People Magazine as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman.

Lopez won the MTV best song for On My Way which featured in Marry Me.
