Johnny Depp was slammed by Howard Stern for “overacting” while testifying against Amber Heard in the former couple’s defamation trial, which has been broadcast live on various platforms since April 11.
Johnny Depp is suing Heard for defamation after she referred to their alleged abusive relationship in a Washington Post op-ed article. Heard’s legal team reportedly attempted to prevent cameras from livestreaming the trial, which Judge Penney Azcarate permitted. The judgement was not officially challenged by Depp’s team.
Howard Stern, who is commonly knows as his days on X factor, remarked on the Johnny Depp’s behavior and accent, called it ‘overacting’ on his SiriusXM radio show while addressing the trial.
The reason he wanted that on — he wanted it televised [because] that’s what narcissists do. They think they can talk their way out of anything. I think Johnny Depp is a huge narcissist and what I mean by that is — he figured, ‘I’ll put this on TV and because I’m so persuasive and because I’m so smart, I’m such a wonderful guy.
He proceeded to belittle Depp, stating,
I’ll play you some clips from the Johnny Depp trial. If he isn’t acting — I mean, he’s so overacting because he’s writing his own material as he goes along. You know, I gotta tell you, he’s wrong. He shouldn’t be putting this on TV in any shape.
He further said that Depp is embarrassing himself in this trail and his accent does not sound Kentucky enough.
Johnny Depp testified in court for two days last week. Two days. Think about that, lots of room to embarrass yourself. Two full, fucking days! First of all, his difficulty in speaking the English language is fantastic…And the accent. First of all, isn’t he from like the South of the Midwest? Johnny Depp was born in Kentucky. Does that sound like a guy from Kentucky?
The defamation lawsuit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has everyone gripped since the trial has roots in domestic abuse, and people are divided in their opinions, anxiously awaiting the court judges’ judgement.
The cross-examination of Depp ended on April 25. Heard has not yet testified, and will be doing so soon.
