Ahead of the highly anticipated second season of “House of the Dragon,” the cast is heating up the rivalry with playful banter and allegiance declarations.

Recently, HBO stirred excitement with dual trailers for the upcoming season, highlighting the factions led by Rhaenyra Targaryen and King Aegon II Targaryen. Now, in a featurette teasing the new season premiering on HBO and Max on June 16, the actors themselves are joining the fray with humorous endorsements for their respective sides.

Following the dramatic events of the first season, which set the stage for a fierce civil war within House Targaryen, the cast members are taking sides in the sibling rivalry. Tom Glynn-Carney, portraying King Aegon II, boldly champions Team Green, jesting about his claim to the castle lease. Meanwhile, Emma D’Arcy, embodying Rhaenyra Targaryen, rallies behind Team Black, citing their madness and naval prowess.

Steve Toussant, playing Lord Corlys Velaryon, backs Team Black as the rightful heirs, adding a humorous note about their superior looks. Eve Best, who portrays Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, humorously dismisses Team Green as “knobs.”

Ewan Mitchell, portraying Aemond Targaryen, justifies his allegiance to Team Green, pointing to his character’s mistreatment by his nephews. Matt Smith, as Daemon Targaryen, defends his onscreen niece and wife, Rhaenyra, emphasizing their bloodline.

While Fabien Frankel, as Ser Criston Cole, remains diplomatic, Olivia Cooke, playing Alicent Hightower, delivers the most straightforward quip: “We have bigger dragons!”
