HBO has placed its bets on a fresh comedic voice, ordering a pilot for a half-hour series led by Rachel Sennott (known for “Bottoms” and “Bodies Bodies Bodies“), who stars, writes, and executive produces the untitled project.

In this new venture, a tight-knit group of friends reunites, grappling with the changes brought about by time apart, individual aspirations, and evolving relationships.

Sennott joins the league of rising female comedy creators like Lena Dunham and Issa Rae, who found success with HBO series centered around twenty-somethings navigating life’s complexities.

A graduate of Tisch School of the Arts in 2017, Sennott’s career took off swiftly with her starring role in the student film “Shiva Baby,” which later earned a feature adaptation, solidifying her position as a promising talent. Her journey continued with lead roles in “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and “Bottoms,” where she showcased her acting prowess and writing skills.

Having caught HBO’s attention early on, Sennott previously appeared in “High Maintenance” and recurred on “The Idol.” Her collaboration with Ayo Edebiri in Comedy Central’s “Ayo and Rachel Are Single” further underscored her versatility and comedic brilliance.

Sennott’s star continues to rise with upcoming roles in “SNL 1975” and “Holland, Michigan,” alongside Nicole Kidman. Represented by WME, Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, and Yorn Levine Barnes, Sennott is set to leave her mark on HBO’s comedy landscape with this promising pilot.
