The wait is finally over as hit drama Euphoria is back. HBO released the official trailer of Euphoria Season 2, showcasing the return of many beloved characters. Euphoria Season 2 is set to debut on 9 January, airing episodes weekly and available on HBO Max for streaming.
Zendaya, Emmy-winner, stars in Euphoria as Rue Bennett, a young drug addict dwelling in East Highland who struggles with recovery. Season 2 will see Rue attempting to find her place in the world while balancing love, loss, and addiction, according to the synopsis. Rue carries a mysterious suitcase in the trailer as she attends meetings and pines after love interest Jules Vaughn.

Alongside Zendaya and Schafer, series include Nika King, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Eric Dane, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Barbie Ferreira, Dominic Fike, Austin Abrams, and Storm Reid as various students and community members of East Highland.
Written, created, and directed by Sam Levison, Euphoria has received multiple rewards and nominations since its premiere in June 2019. This includes various Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Contemporary Makeup and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. Zendaya and Levison also act as executive producers alongside Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan Will Greenfield, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Ron Leshem, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, and Daphna Levin.
The second season was set to release in March 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID. Levison created two standalone installments focusing on Jules and Rue after the cliffhanger ending of season one during the show’s hiatus. The two specials, which debuted in December 2020 and January 2021, are bridges between the first and second seasons.
