‘Dr. Evil’ movie might be in works, says Hollywood insider

According to Hollywood insider Mathew Belloni, Warner Bros’ New Line is apparently interested in developing a Dr. Evil film.

Douglas Powers, often known as Dr. Evil, is the main antagonist of the Austin Powers film series, portrayed by Mike Myers. He is Austin Powers’ major foe and nemesis and secret twin brother. He is a parody of James Bond villains, most notably Ernst Stavro Blofeld. He often invents schemes to terrorize and control the world.

It has been reported by a former editor of The Hollywood Reporter that there are possible chances of Dr. Evil movie. Belloni in his recent article says, “New Line, I’m told, would like to make a Dr. Evil movie, if Mike Myers would stop soiling his brand with crap like The Pentaverate.”

However, when Myers was questioned about the future of the franchise in 2018, he expressed interest in his nemesis role, stating that he would prefer to focus on the antagonist.

“I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil’s perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll. Start the campaign, please. Thank you.”

Although no additional information about the film has been released, Myers appears to grasp the power of the internet and a dedicated audience. So, all those 90s kids who have been wishing to return to the franchise, your voices have been heard.
