David Beckham’s Studio 99 to produce series for Paramount+ UK

David Beckham’s Studio 99 is developing a series for Paramount+ UK on the success of Premier League billionaires, the streamer announced recently.

Paramount+ has also announced a five-show UK reality lineup that includes series about luxury boats, the Loch Ness Monster, Simple Minds, and Vegas strippers, confirmed by Deadline.

The Premiership: Rise of the Billionaires – a working title – will portray the coming-of-age narrative of one of the world’s most costly and successful sports leagues, with all of its stars being the main focus. The series will be co-produced by All3Media.

The four-part series is set to highlight the period between 2000 and 2010, when Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who was recently forced to sell Chelsea, grabbed the league by storm and redefined its status.

David Beckham’s Studio 99 is also producing the Disney+ docuseries Save Our Squad. The show debuts on a five-strong Paramount+ UK reality lineup the morning after the streamer staged a lavish party in London’s West End with Sylvester Stallone, Gillian Anderson, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Ben Frow, Paramount UK’s Chief Content Officer, talked about the collaboration of Paramount+ with UK shows in an official statement.

“Our mission is to make Paramount+ the leading destination for unmissable television in collaboration with the UK’s storytelling talent. These new commissions will join an abundance of original content on the service, as well as the pick of Paramount’s vast catalogue to create a compelling offering for viewers in the UK and Ireland.”

Tomorrow, Paramount+ will be available in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
