The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has hit a rocky patch, and Brie Larson, star of “The Marvels,” remains tight-lipped about her Marvel future post the film’s underwhelming performance at the box office.

At the 2024 SAG Awards, Larson was probed about any upcoming Marvel projects, to which she responded with a shake of her head, saying, “I don’t have anything to say about that,” leaving fans in suspense.

The Marvels,” released in November, fell short of Marvel Studios’ box office standards, making it the MCU’s worst-ever opening weekend with $47 million domestically. The sequel to Larson’s 2019 hit, “Captain Marvel,” faced a lackluster reception compared to its predecessor, which opened with $153 million.

In a post-release chat with Entertainment Tonight, Larson hinted at untapped potential in her character, Carol Danvers, stating, “there is still so much inside of Carol” to explore in future movies.

However, when pressed about her involvement in upcoming MCU projects, Larson remained evasive, saying, “I don’t want Marvel to come for me. But there is something…that I would want to say, but I am not going to.”

Marvel Studios is yet to confirm a sequel to The Marvels. The studio’s 2024 lineup features Deadpool & Wolverine, with six more movies planned between 2025 and 2027, including the next Captain America installment, the introduction of Fantastic Four to the MCU, and two Avengers titles.

Larson’s co-star Iman Vellani downplayed concerns about the film’s box office performance, emphasizing that it’s beyond the actors’ control. “I don’t want to focus on something that’s not even in my control,” Vellani remarked, echoing the sentiment that decisions lie in the hands of Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger.

As Larson maintains silence, fans eagerly await any revelations about her future in the ever-expansive Marvel universe.
