Scott Adsit makes his return as the lovable healthcare companion in the Big Hero 6 spinoff series Baymax, which premieres on Disney+ on June 29.
Baymax!, the first-ever animated series from Walt Disney Animation Studios and adaptation of the Marvel comic book. Each episode of the Disney+ Original series shows the healthcare bot-turned-superhero employ his new unique abilities to assist individuals in need in the fantastical metropolis of San Fransokyo. Don Hall, the Oscar-winning filmmaker of Big Hero 6, announced the animated series during Disney’s Investor Day 2020.
We actually get to explore more of the city of San Fransokyo, this huge, wonderful, rich canvas. The series really focuses on Baymax’s original protocol, which is to be a nurse robot.
Hall also said that Baymax will have a new capability that will let him to swiftly cruise around the streets of San Fransokyo hunting for patients who need help. He also mentioned how the series will move along saying,
Each episode, we meet a new character: a patient that Baymax is gonna help.
Baymax previously appeared in Big Hero 6: The Series, Disney Television Animation’s hand-drawn sequel series that aired on DisneyXD for three seasons. Baymax! made his debut in Big Hero 6 as the late Tadashi’s robot creation, the older brother of robotics genius Hiro Hamada.
The Academy Award winner for Best Animated Film cast Baymax and Hiro as members of the techy superhero squad Big Hero 6, which also includes Go Go (Jamie Chung), Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.), Fred (T.J. Miller), and Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez).
Big Hero 6 and Big Hero 6: The Series are now available to watch on Disney+. Baymax! will be available on Netflix on Wednesday, June 29.
