In the newest Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang the Conqueror, showcases some incredible and unrestrained power.

In addition to being able to manipulate time, he also assisted Scott Lang in reliving the five years he had lost in the Quantum Realm.

Even Ant-Man director Peyton Reed stated in an earlier interview with CBR that he wants the smallest member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to face off against the most terrifying villain of their universe. “It struck me as interesting to take the tiniest Avengers — in some people’s minds maybe the least powerful Avengers — and put them up against the most powerful force in the multiverse.”

Ant Man and The Wasp Quantumania

Reed at  Nerdbunker says that his favorite character was Kang from the very beginning and he wanted to test the dynamics of his character. Reed says, “We wanted the responsibility. We wanted to put Ant-Man and the Wasp against one of the big great villains in the Marvel Comics universe. I loved Kang as a kid, and to get to create him, and figure out who he is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that’s always a fun thing, taking these characters that people have a relationship with in the comics and figuring out sort of what that is in the movie universe. Because they are two very different things.”

The trailer also shows MODOK’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut and the unnamed blue-suited character played by Bill Murray. However, it has been rumored that Murray will be playing Krylar, the alien scientist.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be available to stream on Disney+ on January 17.
