FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers reunite in Criminal Minds: Evolution to hunt down a network of serial killers built as a result of the Covid pandemic.
The series however just switched to a streaming platform, which is again credited to the pandemic as per actress and filmmaker, A.J Cook.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress says, “Through the pandemic, we really built up the momentum. A lot of younger kids started watching it on Netflix and with this TikTok world, it all sort of took off a little more. It was already a popular show but then it became something else. I don’t know how we got here but I’m happy we are!”
While talking with KTLA News the actress explained the major difference between the original series and the spinoff.
The actress says, “Well we have been given this extraordinary opportunity to make a streaming version of the show, it’s the Criminal Minds you love, it evolved, it’s the reason why we picked Criminal Minds: Evolution for this title, or picking this team up after Covid and lockdown.”
Cook further adds how JJ herself has been exhausted and trying to cope with the after-effects of the pandemic saying, “We are trying to make it feel very real.”
Criminal Minds: Evolution is available to watch on Paramount Plus on November 24.
