February 2021

Here are the movies that Netflix subscribers can start streaming in February 2021:

Shutter Island

Shutter Island was Martin Scorsese’s 4th collaboration with Leonardo Di Caprio. It was also the legendary director’s first attempt at a thriller/horror movie since 1991’s Cape Fear. It follows two federal marshals as they arrive on Shutter Island after reports of an inmate from a mental asylum escaping. The asylum is almost a fortress, but the marshals are quick to spot several irregularities in different accounts of how the inmate escaped, in addition to signs of illegal experiments within the asylum walls. The investigation takes them to other parts of the island and culminates in a jaw-dropping twist towards the end. Netflix subscribers can find out what the twist is themselves by streaming Shutter Island on the platform starting this month.

Alexander

Few historical figures have impacted the history, culture, and politics of the world in a way that has spanned across millennia. Alexander found the Greek city-states in a state of perpetual internal warfare and the prospect of being run over by the Persian empire. And yet, despite his tender age, led them to one victory after another, rightfully earning the title, Alexander The Great. By age 32, he had conquered most of the known world and had grandiose plans for future campaigns that defied both scale and audacity. Alexander’s story is the perfect marriage between raw ambition combined with a skilled mind. This is one movie Netflix users will be glad to know has finally made its way on to the platform’s expansive catalog.

All About The Benjamins

Bucum is a regular bounty hunter who gets by in life, capturing small-time criminals and crooks. However, one day he finds himself looking for a stash of diamonds and a lottery ticket that could end up fetching him millions of dollars. He needs help in his pursuit, so he ends up teaming up with a small-time con artist, Reggie, as they scour the city to look for the stash. However, they’re not alone in their search. They find themselves in a race against time to find the stash or risk losing out on it altogether. Netflix subscribers can start streaming All About The Benjamins starting February 2021.

Beverly Hills Ninja

A clan of ninjas inhabits an island. Their lives are all about duty, training, and discipline. Their most ancient prophecy speaks of a man from a distant land that’ll become the best among them. So, when an American infant washes ashore, they are elated to see the prophecy nearing its completion. However, as the infant grows up, it becomes abundantly clear that he has neither the mental or physical capabilities to be a ninja, let alone the best among them. However, the boy is adamant about proving himself worthy and pursues his adventure to do so. Things don’t go according to plan as his antics lead to one disaster after another. Beverly Hills Ninja is a slapstick comedy meets Mortal Kombat, available on Netflix from this month.

The Blair Witch Project

It’s incredibly rare for a movie to change an entire genre. Even rarer for it to create an entirely new sub-genre. But that is precisely what The Blair Witch Project did. Using found video footage format, the movie is a tale of three students that are in a small town to collect information on a local murderer named Blair Witch. Although a risky prospect, the three students continue their research and gather as much information as possible, venturing further and further into the woods. Things take a turn for the worse when they begin hearing bone-chilling noises, howling, and horrible wails as they try to make their way out of the woods. Netflix subscribers can finally watch the epic horror movie starting this month.

January 2021

Me Before You

Me Before You follows Lou as she finds herself working two jobs to make ends meet for her family. She’s quirky, cheerful, and full of energy. This leads her to take a job as a caregiver for Will. Her personality is a stark contrast to the depressed and brooding Will, a young banker left paralyzed. An accident two years ago made sure he’d never walk again. He constantly berates Lou for her non-seriousness. However, as they spend more time together and their bond deepens, Will warms up to Lou. But is it enough for them to end up together?

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

The international assassin’s guild has just one rule – no killing without permission. John Wick breaks this cardinal rule by gunning down a member of that same organization. This leads him to lose the protective services the organization had afforded him. He’s made a lot of enemies over the years, and they all come hunting for him for that $14 million bounty on his head. He’s the top target for some of the world’s best assassins that are better prepared, equipped, and organized than him.

A Suitable Boy

Few series capture what it was to be a single woman in post-partition India than A Suitable Boy. The story revolves around Lata, a university student who’s determined to finish her studies and not let an early marriage dictate her life. Her mother and brother have different plans for her, though. Over six episodes, Lata is introduced to 4 different boys and their families. Lata must decide which one she wants to marry.
