Netflix Australia maintains one of the most diverse and sundry content libraries. Hence, it’s no surprise that Netflix subscribers in Australia will be glad to know there’s a slew of additional content headed their way in December 2020. Here are some of the highlights from all those new titles:
Hello, Love, Goodbye
Hong Kong is home to numerous billionaires from all over the world. Thousands of overseas workers have employed domestic help. This is the story of two such Filipino workers whose lives intertwine because of work. There’s an instant connection, but both want different things from life. One wants to settle in Hong Kong while the other wishes to escape her menial life as soon as possible. This is a story about whether a budding romance can survive a clash of ambitions.
One of the most iconic movies ever made is finally heading to Netflix Australia this month. The storyline follows a modern-day crew’s search for a priceless necklace in the wreckage of the Titanic. They don’t find the necklace, but a nude sketch of a woman wearing it. The crew’s interest is piqued when they get a call from an elderly woman claiming to be the woman in the picture. The plot then follows her short-lived romance with a boy on-board the Titanic, how she came in possession of the necklace, and how she survived. All of this right until the fateful final hours of its sinking.
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker is back at his high-school. He’s still burdened by the weight of responsibility Tony Stark left him with. However, he puts it all on the back-burner as he goes on a European tour with his friends. The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man finds himself fighting world-threatening monsters across Europe. As a result, he finally learns to accept his responsibility rather than shying away from it.
Home Alone & Home Alone 2
There’s arguably no better movie to watch during Christmas than Home Alone. Australian viewers will finally be able to stream it starting in December 2020. It follows the McAllister family, planning their holiday escape. Bizarrely, they leave Kevin behind the day they’re supposed to depart. A boring house-stay takes an adventurous turn when a couple of burglars attempt to break into the house but not if Kevin can help it. Using improvised tools and traps, he makes sure the burglars get more than they bargained for.
Their fates meet again, this time in New York. Kevin somehow lands in New York while his family’s bound for Florida. He ends up at the Plaza Hotel while discovering the burglars from earlier are on the loose. Moreover, they’re planning another break-in at an elderly man’s toy store. Kevin puts his usual tactics to use and thwarts them again in Home Alone 2.
