A “10-hour movie” doesn’t even begin to describe a mini-series. The plot develops further throughout a limited number of episodes, yet the overall narrative may be considered self-contained. It starts intriguingly, maintains its momentum throughout, and (fingers crossed) comes to a conclusion that satisfies. It’s a comprehensive binge-watching experience that, in most cases, has award-worthy content and famous actors. And Netflix has more than its fair share of interesting limited series in every genre to offer users to watch.
The following is a list of the top miniseries available on Netflix and are just begging to be binged right now. These miniseries range from mind-bending comedy to retellings of actual crimes to period espionage thrillers and more.

The Queen’s Gambit

It is not necessary to have a passion for chess to get captivated by this drama written by Scott Frank. This is because the board game is the battlefield’s backdrop, on which the strategic maneuvering and tension-building occur. Anya-Taylor Joy and the hypnotic gaze have taken center stage in this production.
Joy portrays Beth Harmon, an orphan and chess prodigy whose aspirations for grandeur are only overshadowed by her life-threatening addictions. It’s a coming-of-age story wrapped in a disguise disguised behind pawns and Sicilian defense tactics, and it’s one of the most captivating and thrilling series to land on the streamer in a long time. Unbelievable

This miniseries tackles some difficult topics, and its cast includes such notable names as Toni Collette, Merritt Weaver, and Booksmart’s Kaitlyn Dever. Marie, the character that Dever portrays, is a young lady accused of lying about a sexual assault she had. Collette and Weaver portray the roles of the lone female detectives who get immersed in her case and hunt for the truth while attempting to stop her rapist from attacking another victim. It’s an intriguing look at how we deal with traumatic experiences, and it’s kept together by some outstanding acting.
When They See Us

Ava DuVernay’s limited series on the men who were falsely accused in the Central Park Five case is an extremely taxing retelling of an event that was genuinely awful in our history. The show shines attention on racial profiling and corruption in the NYPD by following a group of young black guys accused of committing a horrible crime and placed on trial despite little evidence against them. It is a riveting tale that will crush your heart, but it is also one that seems all too current.

Godless

Godless is a program that is both a feminist Western and a show about dads and sons. It was written, directed, and conceived by Scott Frank, the writer of Logan and Out of Sight. The story takes place in the 1880s in the little mining town of La Belle, during a time when almost all of the male residents of the village perished in a mining accident. Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell), a charming gunslinger, is on the run from the mentor he betrayed, Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels), who had already slaughtered everyone in another with his band of outlaws in a small town for harboring Goode.
Enter Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell), a charming gunslinger on the run. The last confrontation in the series confronts a village populated mostly by women against a vicious and heartless criminal group. The standouts in Godless are Downton Abbey’s nearly unrecognizable shotgun-wielding pioneer woman Michelle Dockery and Merritt Wever, a bisexual woman all out of f*cks to give. Scoot McNairy, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Sam Waterston play law enforcement officers in the film, but the show’s real stars are Dockery and Wever. It is an outstandingly wonderful series bolstered by gorgeous photography, lyrical writing, a few spectacular shootouts, and fine performances from the whole ensemble.
The Haunting Of Bly Manor

This new story, which features a few familiar faces for fans of Mike Flanagan’s previous work, feels quite different from his previous horror series on Netflix, The Haunting of Hill House, which gave us all nightmares. However, fans of his previous work will recognize some of the actors in this new story. The haunting of one dysfunctional family will be replaced with the heartbreaking story of two orphans who, after their au pair dies in a very tragic manner, are assigned a new nanny (Victoria Pedretti from You), who quickly upends things for both the better and the worse. This story will replace the haunting of one dysfunctional family.
Tiger King

Certain tales are much too strange and mind-boggling to be genuine. And then there’s this documentary series that has seven parts. This true-crime binge contains everything you could want, including cults, LGBT romance, and exotic pets. Is Joe Exotic, a homosexual con guy who enjoys shooting guns and runs an exotic zoo out of his house in Oklahoma, a villain or a hero in the eyes of the law? Is it true that Carole Baskin, an enthusiast for animal rights, killed her husband and then fed him to her tigers? Why are there so many people working at the zoo who are missing limbs? As you witness this train accident, you will have many questions like these running through your head. Have fun, kids.

True Story (2021)

Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes, two of the most outstanding actors working today, are at the helm of Netflix’s newest limited series, True Story. While in Philadelphia, Hart’s character, a renowned comedian who is quite similar to Hart in real life, finds himself in an unforeseen circumstance where his life or death is at stake.
It is interesting to note that several evaluations from reviewers were contradictory; for example, although the chemistry between Snipes and Hart was lauded, the narrative was regarded to be a touch lacking in excitement. On the other hand, the audience appeared to like it more, as indicated by the high rating on IMDb.
Hollywood (2020)

Responsible for producing some of the most successful television programs of the 2010s, Ryan Murphy is the person whose name is most often spoken when discussing television. Glee, American Horror Story, Pose, and 9-1-1 are just a few of the shows. In addition to his credentials in Hollywood, he has a Netflix original miniseries under his belt.
As is customary for Ryan Murphy productions, this one included a stellar ensemble cast that included, amongst many others, Maude Apatow, Samara Weaving, Jim Parsons, and Laura Harrier. A dozen nominations for an Emmy were given to a narrative that takes place in Hollywood during the late 1940s and focuses on aspiring performers and filmmakers in the industry.
Halston (2021)

Ewan McGregor has established himself as a brilliant and adaptable actor throughout his career, despite being most known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars film saga. This was maybe never more apparent than in his major performance in the Netflix series Halston, in which he portrayed the character with the same name.
The life of Halston, one of the most famous fashion designers globally, is the subject of this television series, which was derived from a book written by Steven Gaines. The miniseries only has five episodes, making it one of the smallest ones available on Netflix; nonetheless, it delivers in spades. As a result of his outstanding performance, McGregor was awarded an Emmy.
The Spy

In this limited series for Netflix, Sacha Baron Cohen assumes a new guise; yet, there are considerably fewer humorous moments than there are in his other, more well-known identities. Cohen assumes the persona of an Israeli intelligence operative named Eli Cohen, who worked secretly for several years in Syria during the 1960s under Kamel Amin Thaabet. Cohen (the operative, not the actor) posed as a wealthy importer/exporter who infiltrated the highest echelons of the Syrian government during a difficult time for both countries. Cohen (the actor, not the operative) delivers his most serious performance in this war-time thriller. He does a great job of delivering his most serious performance to date in this war-time thriller.
Dead Set

There is a zombie epidemic on the set of Big Brother, but you shouldn’t be deceived into believing that this will be a parody of the zombie film genre in the vein of Shaun of the Dead. It’s a formidable addition to the walking/running undead category. You need to know that it was written by Charlie Brooker, the creator of Black Mirror, which indicates that it will be depressing as all get out. Like Black Mirror, Brooker draws deep analogies inside Dead Set about the worldwide fascination with television and how it perverts reality. It only has five episodes, but that’s long enough to differentiate itself from a crowded genre before entering a violent blaze of glory.
