The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot
In the Pilot, John Winchester, portrayed by Drake Rodger, is presented as a man who has recently returned from war and is still attempting to figure out where his father went. Millie, his mother, is trying to get him to accept that his search is not over. His father left a letter from a mysterious individual that led him to Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly). John becomes a hunter and quickly learns the ropes, exhibiting his battle experience. Although the episode is fast-paced, he appears to adapt to the lifestyle quickly.
Mary was raised hunting with not just her family but distant relatives as well. She was incredibly close to her dad and understood her work’s significance. She has a lot more to her character than the typical stereotype of a teenage girl portrayed on TV. Unfortunately, her part was lightly touched upon in the first episode.
