Quick steps: How to watch shows and movies on Paramount+ using a VPN

  1. Select a VPN service that is optimized for streaming. We recommend ExpressVPN OR PureVPN . It has multiple plans you can choose from See Detailed Review.

  2. Download the VPN and connect to a US server.

  3. Log in to Paramount plus.

  4. Find Back at the Barnyard and stream it no matter where you are.

Why is Paramount+ restricted in Australia?

Many streaming services restrict their content from being accessed by people in countries other than the US, which means that there’s a whole world of entertainment that opens up when you start using a reliable, high-speed VPN service.

But is a VPN only for streaming?

Not at all. A reliable VPN (like the ones we recommend below) can come in handy in many other ways. Say, you’re buying air tickets for an upcoming trip. Browse the travel website after connecting to a server in a different country using a VPN service: you’ll get different rates! Bargain hunters save up to hundreds of dollars on a single trip using this method.

Or, say, you’re traveling abroad. If you connect to public Wifi networks (hotels, cafes, airports) with a strong VPN service, you’ll have the peace of mind that your personal data (banking info, emails, pictures etc.) on your device are secure.

Btw, there’s a nifty comparison of our recommended VPNs at the end of this article. [Go to VPN comparison]

The animated prequel series Back at the Barnyard continues the story several years after the events of the main film.

The Farmer’s (Fred Tatasciore) ignorance of the herd’s abilities to move, talk, and have parties under his nose hasn’t been alleviated by the passage of time.

Otis the cow, voiced over by Chris Hardwick, is the ringleader of a group of ne’er-do-wells that always come up with methods to get closer to discovering humanity.

Otis’s crazy schemes often lead to chaos and confusion on the farm, whether he’s planning to throw a barnyard party without the farmer’s interference or trying to convince the other animals to build a restaurant and pass themselves off as humans.

There’s Pip the mouse (Jeff Garcia), Bessy the sassy cow (Wanda Sykes), Pig the food junkie (Tino Insana), and Abby the new cow (Leigh-Allyn Baker), whose athleticism drives Otis mad.

Our Review: Final Verdict

The show is based on a film of the same name and depicts the daily life of farm animals. Inspired by the 2006 film, this series appears to take place in a different timeline than the film.

For kids older than 6, this is a great series. For the most part, this show is appropriate for kids to watch with their parents.

What are the best VPNs to watch Back at the Barnyard in Australia?

ExpressVPN has always been a top choice when it comes to streaming. In our recent test, we found ExpressVPN has outperformed all other VPN in terms of Speed.

Thanks to the huge content library such as major shows like YellowStone and sports events in the months of November and December 2022, ExpressVPN has put extra emphasis to optimize Paramount+ for their subscribers. In our check, we test 7 parameters such as:

  • Ability to unblock US library of Paramount+
  • Streaming Speed
  • UTB (Unable to browse)
  • UTC (Unable to connect)
  • Performance on Apps
  • Performance on Routers and Devices
  • Security

In our attempts, we attempted 9 times a day and found UTC (Unable to connect) only 1 time that too on Windows PC. It connects perfectly fine on the rest of the devices such as Android TV, Firestick 4K, iOS and router. Thanks to their huge list of physical servers in the USA that too with residential nodes which makes it impossible to trace your original location.

Express Servers in USA: Albuquerque, Denver, Lincoln Park, Log Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, New York, Phoenix Salt, Lake City, San Francisco, Santa, Monica, Seattle, Tampa - 1, Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas

Recommended USA servers for Paramount plus: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago.

In terms of speed, we didn't notice any significant drop in speed. Suppose, our base speed was 100Mbps from Tasmania, Australia and we connect to New York servers from their Lightway protocol. We tested the speed on Fast.com and found the degradation up to 2 - 5% only. However, when I tried the Chicago server from the same destination, the degradation increased to 10%. This is still far under the line, considering the fact, some other VPNs dropped the speed up to 80%. This is a super important factor as most of the content on Paramount plus is available in 4K and using ExpressVPN you will be able to enjoy content in amazing video quality.

Security: The biggest headache using VPN is ISP throttling where all VPNs raise their hand as it's something which is not in their control. However, surprisingly that's not the case with ExpressVPN. Their security and privacy infrastructure is so optimized that you will never ever experience such issues and that your privacy (real location) will never be compromised.

Pros:

  • Top-rated VPN for all streaming platforms
  • High quality video content
  • Works flawlessly on Android TV for Paramount Plus
  • Performed well in speed when it comes to accessing Paramount Plus content in Australia, UK and Canada

Cons:

  • Expensive

We tested many VPNs for Peacock TV, and the reason PureVPN took a lead is its proxy-based Chrome extension. It works smoothly and streams Paramount+ with a single click.

The other positive for PureVPN is their diversified servers in different locations and countries. This makes it possible for us to access Paramount+ regional content in Australia and the UK.
